Several events featuring our authors are happening around the country within the next week. Be sure to check them out.
From 5:30-6:30pm today, Steve J. Stern, author of The Memory Box of Pinochet's Chile Trilogy, will be participating in the Wisconsin Book Festival and presenting his newest book, Reckoning with Pinochet. The event is at the Rainbow Bookstore Cooperative in Madison, WI.
Through October 2nd, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) will be having their 95th Annual Convention in Raleigh, NC. Be sure to stop the exhibit hall and meet Duke Press authors, like
Sonia Sanchez (I'm Black When I'm Singing, I'm Blue When I Ain't and Other Plays) and Lee D. Baker (Anthropology and the Racial Politics of Culture).
On October 5th, the KGB Bar in NYC will be hosting Amitava Kumar, author of A Foreigner Carrying in the Crook of His Arm a Tiny Bomb and Nobody Does the Right Thing.
Kumar will be participating in "Nonfiction at the KGB" from 7:00-9:00pm.
And, of course, be sure to stop by our booth (#111, 113, 115) at the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) annual meeting in Toronto (October 6th-9th). There are sure to be appearances by many Duke Press authors.
